The Latin alphabet, plus ñ. It is written exactly as it sounds — the friendliest spelling of any major language.
🎯 Why learn it
Spanish is the easiest major European language for an English speaker to learn to speak well, because every letter has one sound and keeps it. It is spoken across twenty countries, and it is the second language of the United States.
🌱 How this course teaches
Spanish rewards the mouth immediately. Within one lesson you will pronounce whole sentences correctly, because nothing is silent and nothing is hidden. So this course pushes you to speak from the first minute and saves the grammar for the moment you have already used it.
🔊 The sounds to get right first

| rr (perro) | a rolled r | Tongue tip flutters against the ridge behind the teeth. Practise with 'butter' said fast — that tap is the single r. |

| ll / y (llamo, yo) | y as in yes | In Argentina it becomes 'zh'. Both are correct. |
| ñ (mañana) | ny | The ny of 'canyon' — which is itself the Spanish cañón. |
| h (hola) | silent, always | Hola is 'OH-la'. The h is written and never said. |
